With the vaccination programme in full swing for senior citizens there is light at the end of the tunnel for those who have been isolated from friends and family. We await Boris Johnson’s road map to coming out of lockdown, but we know this will be a slow process to ensure infection rates don’t rise again quickly.
Treasured Time can offer support at home to those who are vulnerable and in need of assistance to manage with shopping, household tasks or keeping on top of correspondence. If someone is coping with dementia at home and is in need of support I am able to assist. Full PPE guidance is followed as it is required.
In due course I will be able to continue my visits taking people out and about, but that is still on hold for the moment.

I originally trained as a SEN(M), and worked in that sector caring for the elderly for around 9 years. After this I changed pathways and moved to administration work, being employed in both the NHS and private sectors at various stages of my career. Between 2002 to June 2017 I worked in a Fertility Clinic as Clinic Director, and then Quality lead providing a patient centered service. This was a key element of my job, and I enjoyed listening to patients and improving standards of service through patient feedback and audit.
It was through doing voluntary work though that I realized I wanted to work alongside people more directly again and offer them support in the community by forming a companionship service. I set this up in 2017 and have now established a befriending and support service for people at home that need help to remain independent.
