It is a difficult time for many older people advised to maintain social distancing from friends and family.
I am contacting all my clients to agree what they would like to do in this period of isolation. Some can receive phone calls instead of visits, other visits may need to be postponed. Where relatives are particularly concerned about how their relative is managing, and may need some assistance with meals etc, I can maintain visits. If this is the case I will take extra precautions on hygiene and distance, and obviously not go if either myself or the client has any symptoms of the virus.
I can do additional phone calls where this is felt to be of help, and also go to the supermarket for clients to get supplies in. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on 07890 134 656.

I originally trained as a SEN(M), and worked in that sector caring for the elderly for around 9 years. After this I changed pathways and moved to administration work, being employed in both the NHS and private sectors at various stages of my career. Between 2002 to June 2017 I worked in a Fertility Clinic as Clinic Director, and then Quality lead providing a patient centered service. This was a key element of my job, and I enjoyed listening to patients and improving standards of service through patient feedback and audit.
It was through doing voluntary work though that I realized I wanted to work alongside people more directly again and offer them support in the community by forming a companionship service. I set this up in 2017 and have now established a befriending and support service for people at home that need help to remain independent.
